About the group
The Isotope Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry group, led by three academic staff (Prof. Dr. M. Schönbächler, Prof. Dr. D. Vance, and Prof. Dr. H. Busemann), is part of the Institute of Geochemistry and Petrology at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
Research
The research interests of the group focus on using isotope geochemistry to better understand the physical and chemical processes that have controlled the development of the Earth, including its surface environment, and its place in the Solar System.
Facilities
The Isotope Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry group is very international in makeup, providing a broad range of academic ideas and experience. It is exceptionally well provided, with new state-of-the-art analytical laboratories and equipment. This collection of equipment for the measurement of elemental abundances and isotope compositions of noble gases and non-volatile elements is one of the most modern and comprehensive in the world.
